Our Dream:
To one day open a community center for Pagans around the Gulf Coast area. The vision we have includes many things that the Pagans of this area want and need. A safe place to gather and hold rituals, meetings and workshops. A safe place for our children to go and learn about the Lord and Lady, to meet other kids there age and make long lasting friendships. To have the means to reach out to the Pagan community in many ways such as helping those down on there luck with food, clothing, and many other areas where a helping hand is needed. To build the type of Community Pride that we all seek. To hold festivals and events to bring the Community together.
What is PST doing now to help build this dream?
We do not have property to build our community center on as of this time. We are working on many fund raisers to help fund the project. However, that dose not mean that we can not start some of our plans now.
I have opened my home to the Pagan Community to act as the Temples Home until we can one day have our Community Center. We will hold Open Rituals for Sabbats and Esbats to any in the Pagan Community who wish to come out and join us to celebrate. We will hold workshops for those who wish to have them. We will set up meeting times so that folks can gather and hang out, just to enjoy the company of fellow Pagans.
One of our goals for the Temple is to have a Pagan Library where books can be checked out, this is so that those in the community who wish to read the latest books that are out can with out spending a fortune in buying them. To date we have over 100 books. Robert is hard at work setting this up for everyone. More will be posted as soon as it is set and books are ready for checking out. In addition to the books we have many Movie DVD's that can also be checked out.
For those in the community who do not have access to the Internet, we will set times so that you can use the one here. We are expecting this to work along the lines of calling us and making an appointment for time on the computer. This way we do not end up with to many people coming in at the same time. After all at the moment we only have the one for use.
The outside Ritual area and Altar will be for public use. Offering the Community a safe place to come and hold there own rituals in a safe place.
We will be holding Kids Day activities. We have many games that the kids can gather and play. As will as holding cookouts, workshops and many more activities with the kids. One of our plans is to build our own Scout Troop. We also have been asked about an after school program. We do not have one at this time, but we are looking into it and will keep you posted.
These are just a few of the things we are working on now and look forward to adding more much needed things for our Community along the Gulf Coast.
